Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale's Super Hit Film
Priyamani, you had said during an interview that when this story came to you and you read it, your hands were trembling, what would you like to say about it?
Priyamani- Not during the entire story. There was only one scene when Rajeshwari along with her team got the copies of the order in her hands and when I held them, I shivered. Because it was not the original copy but it was a copy of the original. At that time the director and the entire team were telling me what happened at that time. At that time I felt the weight of the real character I was playing.
Sumit ji, you started with TV and then came to films. Your character in this film was very negative, a character that one would hate as an Indian. How was it for you to play this character?
Sumit- Whatever work has come to me, I have done it. If we talk about this character, I think there are two types of minds in all of us, one which works and thinks like a human being and the other which works and thinks like an animal. To hate someone, it is very important to be emotionally connected to that person. You hate that person who has harmed you or your loved ones. As you said India hated my character, so when I was playing this character, I hated India as this character, which was very difficult for me. I also went to watch the movie with my friends and when the movie ended, my friends got very excited due to which the person sitting next to us recognized me. At first, he was very happy that a film actor was sitting here, then he told me, “You did a very good job. I just didn't understand why Yami Ji's character pulled you up and didn't let you fall.”
Ashwini, how special has this character and film been for you?
Ashwini- I kept doing it the way it was written in the script and I did not do anything more than that. The only special thing that happened in the film was that my first dialogue was Jab Jo Bolta Hoon on Burhan Mani's death, the first four lines of which are in Kashmiri. That dialogue was translated by my mother into Kashmiri, I sent her the Hindi dialogues. The team told me that this is a four-line dialogue, it is in Hindi but you should say it in Kashmiri. I tried to do it in Kashmiri by myself but when I found shortcomings in it, I called my mother and she helped me. All this was Mother's blessing.
Skand and Vaibhav, you were seen in the role of CRPF jawan in this film, how special was this film for you?
Skand- It is special but with it comes responsibility also. We knew that we were wearing the uniform and representing the heroes of our country. When you wear a uniform, you realize the power of the uniform. We were trained for the action sequences. Our uniform was also made from the same place where the uniforms of our soldiers are made and it was a very special feeling. Some enthusiasm comes as soon as you wear the uniform and the rest of the enthusiasm comes from training. Vaibhav is playing the role of my senior officer, and in this, we have spent a lot of time together, so I have learned a lot from him and now we have become very good friends.
Ashwini- Before we move ahead, I want to say to Vaibhav that I liked his work in Bajirao Mastani.
Vaibhav- You asked about the experience of this character and the film, so I would say that it was a big responsibility. I have been to Srinagar three times before and when we leave the airport, there are army personnel standing on both sides. When I went to Srinagar this time, it was raining heavily, so I felt that there would not be many people there because it was raining heavily and the weather had become very cold. But those people were standing there, then you realize that this is a huge responsibility and we are going to play their characters in the film. We were given training by ex-army men which benefited us a lot. It was great to see that people gave a lot of love to the film.
Kiran sir, people have liked your character very much, an echo of whistles and applause was heard on the entry of your character in the theatre. What would you like to say about this?
Kiran- To be honest, I also enjoyed it a lot. I know that this is not happening just because I am an actor, I represent the feeling of the entire country there. Which was my dialogue, “What are you talking about, Kashmir was, is, and will always be part of India.” Everyone has to say this, and I was representing this emotion on screen. I also watched the film like the general public and I also enjoyed it a lot.
The film has also been praised by the country's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Madhya Pradesh government has also made the film tax-free. Such films take it to a higher level and tell us about the events that have happened in our country, what can we say about this?
Skand- We had discussed this on the sets of the film that the topic of the film is important and emotional and along with it also gives a lot of information about which people should know. I feel that as important as this subject is, it is equally important that the film be made as good because you cannot make a bad film by taking a big topic.
Sumit- There are two types of cinema and people also see it in the same way, like a cinema that dazzles and astonishes people, and the one that tells someone else's story through a third person. The second cinema is the one which is the real story, in which you have to show the audience the journey of that story rather than an amazing story. It is very easy to say that if you have taken a good subject then you will make a good film but it does not happen. A subject that has a lot of information in its story then you have a responsibility as to what you are presenting to the audience.
You are in the hearts of everyone, people like to see you on screen, so would you like to tell something about your upcoming projects?
Priyamani- Right now 'Maidan' is going to be released on the occasion of Eid. After that, we will start shooting for 'Family Man 3' soon. After that, there are some projects in the South.
Sumit- Right now I am enjoying the success of this film and the love of the people, the rest will come to light as things will come in the future and people will get to know about it.
Ashwini- My film Baramulla is going to be released in theaters in a few months. Thank you for giving so much love to this film. I hope that people will watch my upcoming film and give it as much love.
Skand- Just like Sumit sir, I am also enjoying this moment. This was my first film, so a lot of things were happening for the first time. Right now I am enjoying this moment and hope everything will be good in the future.
Vaibhav- Hindi: I am doing two to three interesting projects, the first of which is 'Wedding Story', after that, there is a film 'Bebinka' and after that, there is another film named 'Baatein Teri Kafi Hain'. I am doing a very interesting Marathi project in which Ajay-Atul has musicals. I consider myself very lucky that I am getting a chance to work in both these industries. The love I have received from the people of Maharashtra is a blessing for me.
Kiran- One upcoming film is Laxman Uttekar's 'Chhaava', and I am doing a YRF web show for Netflix. I am also doing a web show on Applause. Talks are going on for more projects and I would also like to work with SRK.
Kiran Sir, would you like to tell about some memories related to Mayapuri Magazine?
Kiran-Mayapuri is the first Hindi magazine in which we used to get news about Hindi films, and in childhood, we used to watch it with great interest.
What would you like to say to the fans?
Vaibhav- On behalf of the entire team, I would like to say thank you very much for giving so much love to our film.
