Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma on Wednesday made a big claim on the issue of change in demographics in Assam. CM Himanta has said that if the current growth rate in the state continues, then by 2041, the population of Muslims in Assam will be almost equal to Hindus. CM Himanta has also told that according to the 2011 census, 31 per cent of the 34 per cent of Muslims in Assam are those who had settled in Assam earlier.
What did CM Himant say?
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on his alleged statement in Assam in Assam in 10 years. “This is not my view.” This is the result of census. What was the condition of Assam’s population in 2011?
According to the census report in 2011, Assam had a population of 3.12 crores. The Muslim population in this was 1.07 crore i.e. 34.22 percent. The population of Hindus in the state was 1.92 crore. This is about 61.47 percent. It is said in the BJP that at least 9 districts of Assam have become Muslim -dominated. This number was 6 in the year 2001. The BJP claims that it is currently the number 11.
