‘Many people did not come …’ When the ACC meeting did not go to Dhaka BCCI; Mohsin Naqvi got chilli; Angry said this thing!
Asia cup 2025: For the last few months, there is continuous discussion about the Asia Cup 2025. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) had decided to hold an annual meeting in Dhaka to take a decision on this much awaited tournament. However, apart from BCCI, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka Cricket Board objected to this meeting.
The BCCI and other boards demanded the meeting to be held in Dubai instead of Dhaka. But ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, ignoring this demand, held the meeting in Dhaka itself, which angered the BCCI. This is the reason that the Indian Cricket Board refused to attend this important meeting.
BCCI virtually took part
Despite the opposition of BCCI, Mohsin Naqvi organized this meeting in Dhaka itself. Some other boards, including the BCCI, went to Dhaka and refused to attend the meeting, although they participated in the virtuous meeting. During the meeting, there was a positive discussion about the Asia Cup 2025 and now the hopes of organizing this tournament have become even stronger.
Interaction with BCCI in final stages
Talking to reporters after the first day of the ACC’s two -day Annual General Meeting in Dhaka, Naqvi said, “The announcement regarding the Asia Cup will be soon. We are in coordination with BCCI. I sincerely hope that these issues will be resolved soon. Mary and Aminul Bhai (President of Bangladesh Cricket Board) have decided in mutual discussion that we will work on this fast.”
All 25 members were involved in Asia Cup meeting
Naqvi said that all 25 member countries participated in this important meeting of ACC, some physically and some virtually attended. He openly praised the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Chairman Aminul Islam for the event.
He said in his statement, “The meeting was very spectacular. We all agreed that working for cricket is our priority. Many countries could not come to Dhaka. This happens often. I myself recently recently went to the ICC meeting in Singapore because I was busy because I was busy. This is a common thing.”
