4 youths killed due to drowning in Dam of Jharkhand: Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh highway closed

Four youths died after drowning in a check dam on Saturday in Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. All were residents of Dalaikala village and came to bathe in the dam. Two of them were the best friends, while two were relatives.

Madhya Pradesh is receiving heavy rains. This has filled the river-ponds. On Saturday, 7-7 gates of Tawa Dam in Narmadapuram and Satpura Dam in Betul have been opened. Heavy rains in Indore have been flooded up to two feet on the roads. The drain water has accumulated near the entry of Mahakal Lok in Ujjain.

The highway connecting Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh due to rain is closed, there are long queues of vehicles. Winds at a speed of 40 to 50 km in Lucknow, UP. The flight coming from Jaipur returned from Agra due to bad weather.

Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, 221 roads, 36 electric transformers and 152 water supply schemes were closed till Friday evening. In Himachal, there have been 25 incidents of cloudburst, 30 of landslide and 42 incidents of sudden floods in Himachal. This made 414 houses and 297 houses frozen.

So far 153 people have lost their lives in the state, while government and private property worth Rs 1436 crore have been destroyed. The Meteorological Department has issued a rains red alert in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Goa on Saturday.
