Islamic State Backed Rebels
Kinsasa: The Islamic State -backed rebels have attacked the church in the eastern Congo. At least 21 people have been killed in this attack on Sunday. A leader of the civil institution has given information about this. The attack was carried out by members of the Allied Democratic Force (ADF) at a Catholic Church complex in Komanda, Eastern Congo. Many houses and shops have also been burnt in the attack.

ADF associated with the Islamic State is a rebellious group active in the border region between Uganda and Congo, which has consistently attacked the civilian population. The ADF was formed by different small groups after dissatisfaction with Yovery Museveni in Uganda in the late 1990s. In 2002, after military attacks by Uganda forces, the group transferred its activities to the neighboring DRC (Democratic Republic of the CONGO) and has been responsible for the killings of thousands of citizens since then. In 2019, it took an oath of allegiance to the Islamic State. The leadership of ADF imagines an Islamic government in this East African country.
