After the fourth day of the Manchester Test, Indian batting coach Sitanshu Kotak came for the press conference and he asked him several questions and during this time there was also a question related to Karun Nair. Prior to the fourth Test match, Gill had said in a press conference that he would back to Nair but Sai Sudarshan was given a chance by excluding him from this important match.

Sudarshan scored a half -century in the first innings but in the second innings he was dismissed without opening an account on the first ball. After the fourth day’s play was over, a journalist from India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak asked about the decision to exclude Nair, which did not have an answer to Kotak and threw the ball in Gill and Gambhir’s court.

Kotak said in the press conference, ‘The selection matters, coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill can talk about it, but it would not be right to talk about it. When Gill said that we would support Karun, he meant to support him as a batsman. He did not perform badly, started well.

Nair has scored 131 runs in six innings of the series so far, out of which 111 runs he has scored at number three. If Nair does not get a chance in the last match of the series at Kennington Oval and Sudarshan is given a chance, then his Indian career may end. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see if Team India gives Nair a chance in the last match or not.

Talking about the match, the visiting team is still 137 runs behind the fifth day and they have eight wickets left. Both Gill and Rahul are moving towards their respective centuries and it will be necessary for both to stay up to another new ball. In such a situation, this fifth day will be very important.
