Washington Sundar’s Father Slams selector: His father’s big statement has come out about Washington Sundar, who saved India from defeat by scoring a century against England in the fourth Test. Mani Sundar, father of Washington Sundar, says the selectors are committing injustice to his son, while the rest of the players are given frequent opportunities. He demanded Sundar to give Sundar a chance for five to ten matches and also questioned the IPL team Gujarat Titans.

Washington Sundar’s brilliant century (101* run, 206 ball) saved Team India from defeat in the second innings of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. KL Rahul and Shubman Gill got out of a hurry pitch and Sundar kept an unbeaten 203 run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja for three hours and stopped the English bowlers for three hours and ensured a draw for India.

But after this strong innings, Sundar’s father Mani Sundar accused the selectors of bias. Mani Sundar said in a conversation with the Times of India, “Washington is continuously performing well, but people ignore her performance. The rest of the players get constant opportunities, but not my son. He should batting at number 5 like the fourth Test and should get a chance in five-ten consecutive Tests. Surprisingly he did not get the chance to play the first Test against England.”

He also said, “My son is dropped only after the failure of only one or two matches. It is not justified. It is not justified in 2021 against England in Chennai’s turning track in Chennai 85 unbeaten and 96 runs in Ahmedabad, yet he did not get confidence. Has this happened to another Indian player?”

Sundar stayed out of the first Test in this series, but played in the next three Tests. Even though his bat did not run so much in the first two Tests, he impressed in bowling, he also took a brilliant four wickets in Lord’s Test.

Washington’s father also questioned the IPL team Gujarat Titans (GT). He said, “He did not get regular opportunity even in Gujarat Titans. This year Washington played only six out of the team’s 15 matches. But he showed his power by scoring 48 runs (24 balls) against Mumbai Indians in Eliminator.
