After this, the need for pin in transactions from UPI will be optional. That is, users will be able to use the pin optional. Pin will not be a mandatori. Users will be able to pay easily through biometric.
Preparations to stop fraud and increase security
The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is preparing to issue this update in UPI, which is expected to increase security and convenience. This step has been taken amid increasing concerns about PIN theft and fraud and at a time when more than 80 percent of digital transactions in the country are done by UPI. Sources have confirmed that NPCI, who is working on this facility. After this, users of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) will be able to prove the transaction by using facial identification and fingers such as biometrics such as facial identification and fingers as an alternative to entering individual identification numbers (PINs).
UPI rules will change from August 1
From 1 August 2025, many rules related to UPI are going to change. Now the limit to check the bank balance has been fixed, where users will be able to check the balance only 50 times a day, while there was no limit yet. This will reduce the increasing load on the server. Auto-pay requests will now be processed only before 10 am, between 1 pm and 5 pm, and only after 9:30 pm. Apart from this, information about fail transactions will now be rapid, and confirmation from the bank will also be necessary on linking the new bank account, which will strengthen the security and verification process.
