Actress Mandakini, who made a sensation by giving bold looks in a white saree in the film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, is celebrating her birthday on 30 July. Born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Mandakini’s real name is Yasmin Joseph.

Mandakini was rejected in three films before entering the cinema world. After this, Ranjit Virk gave him work in the film Majloom and changed his screen name from jaymine to Mandakini. Before the film was released, Raj Kapoor got an eye on Mandakini. He cast Mandakini for the film Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

However, in this film, Raj Kapoor planned to launch Sanjana Kapoor earlier. Later it came to Mandakini’s hand. Mandakini’s wet scene became very popular wearing a white transparent saree under the waterfall in the film. The 22 -year -old Mandakini surprised everyone by doing bold scenes on the screen.

Mandakini worked with Mithun Chakraborty in the superhit film ‘Dance Dance’ in 1987. After this, she also appeared in Madhuri Dixit’s film Tezaab (1988), but she could not achieve success that she got from the first film. Mandakini’s career ended with the 1996 film Vigorce. It was also said that Mandakini was taken in many films due to Dawood.

Mandakini also started singing. Two albums were also removed but could not walk. In the year 1996, Mandakini said goodbye to the film world, as no film at the box office was able to do special wonders.

Mandakini married Dr. Kagur T Rinpoche Thakur in 1990. Now Mandakini and her husband run a Tibetan Herbal Center in Mumbai. Apart from this, Mandakini also teaches Tibet Yoga. They both have two children son Rabil and daughter Rabje Inaya Thakur.
