Dhoni also spoke openly on the team’s performance during the toss. He admitted that the Chennai team had failed to take advantage of the domestic ground this season. Dhoni said, “The advantage of domestic ground is very important, but we could not take advantage of it. This season has to be made many changes because most of the players were not in form. Usually our team does not make much changes, but this time things are not according to our plan.”
He also said that this season is the first season after a new auction, so it has also been a challenge to fit players on the right position.
At the same time, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said that the team will focus on a strong performance in this match. He also confirmed that Glenn Maxwell has a fracture in his finger and the team has not yet taken any decision regarding their replacement.
