Dhaka: Big news is coming out about former Bangladesh Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) president Khaleda Zia. She was also suffering from liver cirrhosis, kidney disease as well as heart disease. But now their health is being claimed to improve. Meanwhile, his party has claimed that Khaleda will participate in the upcoming general elections. This information was given by senior BNP leader Abdul Aval Mintu on Wednesday. He said that now 79 -year -old Khaleda Zia’s health improves and she will contest from Feni constituency.

When will elections be held in Bangladesh?

According to the ‘Daily Star’ newspaper, this announcement was made by Mintu during a meeting with reporters after a meeting organized by Feni district administration. He said, “His health is fine now, so he is ready to contest elections. It also said that the election has been discussed in the party and there is a possibility that general elections should be held in the first week of February.

Khalida’s son Rahman claims

Referring to the conversation with Tariq Rahman, the acting president of BNP and son of Khaleda Zia, Mintu said that if the circumstances of the country and the court’s decision changes, the elections can be held before February. Rahman currently lives in London. He also informed that the case is pending in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh regarding the caretaker government. If the court allows the caretaker government, elections are likely to be held within 90 days.

Which disease has Khalida to

Significantly, in January 2024, Khaleda Jia was taken to London for better medical care and returned to Dhaka in May after four months of treatment. They have long been suffering from serious diseases such as liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes and arthritis. He was lodged in Old Dhaka Central Jail on 8 February 2018 after being found guilty in corruption case in 2018. The case was related to the Jia Orphanage Trust Scam. During the Kovid-19 epidemic, the Awami League government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, temporarily released her on 25 March 2020 through an executive order. The terms of their release included that she would stay at home and would not be allowed to leave the country.
