There is a latest update for Patna residents. Patna Metro earlier where the service was likely to start on August 15, it will now be inaugurated on 23 August. Initially, the metro will be operated from only three stations, while the first five stations were planned to start service. According to News18 Hindi news, the trial run from Bairia Metro Station to Metro Depot has already been completed successfully. It states that the project is now in its final stages. The track and signaling systems are almost fully prepared.
Why the date of inauguration changed
According to Patna Metro Rail Corporation and concerned officials, it is taking more time to complete some technical and operational preparations. All aspects are being closely investigated to ensure that there is no lapse in security and operation. This is the reason why the inauguration date has been extended a few days forward. Although the names of those three stations have not been officially released yet, it is being speculated that these will be the same stations which are closest to the depot and whose preparations have been completed.
