The results of Uttarakhand Panchayat elections have come out and many social media inflammation has faced ground reality in this election. Digital celebrities with millions of followers craved to get 100 votes in their village and have suffered a crushing defeat. There are many social media inflammation, who landed in the electoral fray and had to face defeat.

Deepti Bisht, with 1.5 lakh YouTube subscriber, contested the head of Pradhan from Dungri Gram Panchayat of Kanalichina block. He has more than one lakh followers on Facebook, but he got only 55 votes in the election. Radhika Devi won by winning 79 votes.

Deepa Negi and Bhim Singh also fail

Deepa Negi, with 1.27 lakh subscribers on YouTube, contested from Ghimtoli village in Rudraprayag district. He too got only 269 votes. Kavita, who got 480 votes, won the election. After the defeat, Deepti accused the opposition candidates of rigging and buying votes. He also said that his family was targeted. Bhim Singh contested from Haldwani’s Bachinagar Gram Panchayat. He has 21 thousand subscribers on YouTube. He also follows 24 thousand people on Facebook, but he got only 955 votes. At the same time, Harendra Singh won the election by securing 1534 votes.

7499 posts of Gram Panchayat Pradhan voting

The counting of three -tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand began on Thursday morning. Results of 5,913 posts of Gram Panchayat Pradhan, 95 posts of District Panchayat members and 1,916 posts of Kshetra Panchayat members have already been declared. There are a total of 7,499 posts of Gram Panchayat Pradhan in the state, 358 posts of Zilla Panchayat members and 2,974 posts of Kshetra Panchayat members. On July 24 and 28, polling was held in two phases for panchayat elections in 12 districts of the state. The voting percentage was 69.16 percent.

Political parties do not participate in panchayat elections

Political parties do not directly participate in the panchayat elections in Uttarakhand. Candidates contest as an independent candidate and contest elections on election symbols allotted by the State Election Commission. Political parties, however, support the candidates contesting elections. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed its victory in the panchayat elections. State BJP media in -charge Manveer Singh Chauhan told reporters here, “BJP workers have won most of the posts of village heads and ward members of the state. The public has given BJP candidates the responsibility of a large -scale Kshetra Panchayat member.” Chauhan said that by winning in rural areas, we are moving towards forming a ‘triple engine’ government in the state.
