After the success of the film, Meena Kumari succeeded in making her mark in the film industry as an actress. In the year 1952, Meena Kumari married film director Kamal Amrohi.

Along with this, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for these films. This was the first time in the history of Film Fair where an actress received three nominations from Filmfare.
In the year 1964, there was a rift in the married life of Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi. After this, Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi started living separately. It took about fourteen years to produce Kamal Amrohi’s film Pakija. Despite being separated from Kamal Amrohi, Meena Kumari continued shooting as she believed that the opportunity to work in films like Pakija could not be found again and again.
His pairing in Meena Kumari’s career was well liked with Ashok Kumar. Meena Kumari has been awarded the Best Actress Award for her four times for her best performance. These include Baiju Bawra, Parineeta, Sahib Bibi and Ghulam and Kajal.
