The Special Court of Bengaluru on Friday convicted former JDS MP and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson Prajwal Revanna in a raping case. The court will sentence on Saturday. At the time of the court’s decision, Revanna looked emotional and wept while leaving.
A 47 -year -old woman working in Revanna’s family farmhouse lodged an FIR against her in April last year. He accused Revanna of raping several times since 2021 and threatening to leak the video when he told anyone about the incident.
The court completed the hearing of the case on 18 July. Charges were framed against Revanna under various sections including rape, tight-stricken, criminal intimidation and leakage of pornographic photos. A total of 4 cases of rape have been registered against him. This is the first case in which he is convicted.
Prajwal accused of sexual harassment of many women
Last year, the name of Prajwal Revanna came into the limelight after surfaced in the Karnataka sex scandal. He is accused of sexual harassment of more than 50 women. So far 4 FIRs have been lodged against him against allegations of rape, molestation, blackmailing and threatening.
Last year, more than 2,000 porn video clips were revealed on Revanna’s social media. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Revanna contested the Hassan parliamentary seat of Karnataka for the second time, but could not save his fans. After the cases registered against him, JDS also suspended him from the party.
35 days left and disappeared from the airport, arrests from the airport
Before the names in the Karnataka sex scandal, Prajwal Revanna was busy promoting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He was a seating MP from Hasan seat in Karnataka. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections were also contesting from here. Hassan Lok Sabha seat was held on 26 April.
Meanwhile, he was surrounded by allegations of sexual harassment. The next day of the election, on 27 April, he left the country and moved to Germany. Then 35 days later reached India from Germany on 31 May, the police arrested him from Bangalore Airport itself.

Prajwal Revanna, accused of sex scandal in Karnataka, released the video on May 27, 2024 and said- ‘I will appear before SIT on 31 May, 2024. All the allegations against me are false. I trust the court and believe that I will come out of false cases through the court.
