Arun Jaitley threatens farmer law: Rahul

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of threatening the farmer law and government of threatening. Rahul said that I remember when I was fighting against anti -farmer laws, Arun Jaitley was sent to threaten me.

Rahul said that Jaitley had told him that you will continue to protest against the government and if you fight against the farmer laws, action will be taken against you. They said,

On Rahul’s statement, Arun Jaitley’s son Rohan Jaitley said that Rahul Gandhi is saying that my father threatened him on farmer laws. But the truth is that my father died in 2019 and the law was brought in 2020.

Rohan said- those who are not among us, should speak thoughtfully

Rohan Jaitley said that such people who are no longer among us, should speak thoughtfully while speaking about them. Rahul Gandhi had also done politics on the last days of Manohar Parrikar ji, which was very wrong.

BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that I want to remind Rahul Gandhi that Arun Jaitley ji died on 24 August 2019, while Agriculture Act passed in Lok Sabha on 17 September 2020 and Rajya Sabha on 20 September 2020. By the time these bills were brought in Parliament, Arun Jaitley had passed away.

Jaitley died on 24 August 2019

Arun Jaitley has been a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was the Finance Minister of India in the Narendra Modi government from 2014 to 2019. During his tenure, GST (Goods and Services Tax) and demonetisation were implemented in the country. Jaitley left the post of minister in 2019 due to health reasons. He died on 24 August 2019 at AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi.

Farmers law appeared in Parliament on September 2020

Three farmer laws were introduced in Parliament in September 2020 and were passed the same month. However, farmers across the country, especially the farmers of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, strongly opposed these laws. From November 2020, a long movement on the borders of Delhi began, which lasted more than a year.

Due to the protest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of these laws on 19 November 2021. The three agricultural laws were canceled by Parliament on 1 December 2021 formally.
