Two terrorists killed in Kulgam, Kashmir: one of them was in a hit list
Security forces have killed two terrorists so far in Akhhal forest of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The bodies of both have also been recovered. A terrorist has been identified as Harice Nazir Dar of Pulwama. However, the other’s name has not been revealed.
Haris was killed this morning, while another terrorist was killed in the afternoon. Haris was a terrorist of C-Catagari. He was on the list of 14 local terrorists whose names were released by intelligence agencies on 26 April after the Pahalgam attack. AK-47 rifle, magazine and grenade and ammunition have been recovered from him.
The encounter between security forces and terrorists started in Kulgam last night. Special Operation Group, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF are carrying out ‘Operation Akhhal’. There is a possibility of more terrorists being hidden in the forest. Firing continues from both sides.
Terrorists fired during search operation in Kulgam
An official said that a search operation was started on Friday evening after receiving secret information about terrorist activity in the area. During this time the terrorists started firing on security forces, after which the encounter started. Information about how many terrorists are hidden in the forest have not been revealed yet. To carry out the operation, more security forces have been sent to the area.
This is the third encounter of this week in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, on July 28, security forces had killed 3 terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in Lidwas forests under Operation Mahadev. On 31 July, two more terrorists were killed during the Loc in Poonch during the infiltration.
7 killed in 14 local terrorists, now searching 7
Of the 14 terrorists who had released the list of security forces, 7 have been killed so far. Except for Haris Nazir, the remaining 6 terrorists were killed during an encounter in Shopian and Pulwama in May.
The names of the terrorists who were piled on 13 May in Shopian were Shahid Kutte, Adnan Shafi, Ahsan ul Haq Sheikh. On May 15, Aamir Nazir Wani, Yawar Ahmed Bhat and Asif Ahmed Sheikh were killed in the Pulwama encounter.
