Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has praised Dhadak 2 fiercely and described it as the first mainstream film seen by him in the long run. Produced by Karan Johar, the film stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Trupti Dimri in the lead roles. Anurag Kashyap appreciated director Shazia Iqbal on Instagram to show India’s reality beyond the urban borders. He wrote, ‘The most strong mainstream debut I have seen in a very long time shows us how India is actually outside our bubble in which we live.’

Bridge tied to the praise of the film

The filmmaker further said, ‘This film catchs the dialogue that we survive daily. This should have been the mainstream cinema, and the great filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, Gurudutt, KA Abbas, BR Chopra, Yash Chopra used to do this. We forgot to make mainstream films with social relevance. She was reduced to independent art house cinema. Tamil cinema and a lot of south cinema still do the same today. Sharing a private moment, he said that his driver was emotional to see the film and has not been stopping talking about it since then. He further explained, ‘One of the mainstream conversions of Periyum Perumal, without losing its essence, Dhadak 2 is a tremendous blow. My driver wept with me crying as soon as the film was over and has not stopped talking since then.

Dharma Productions also praised

At the end of his post, Kashyap described the film as extremely courageous and strong and congratulated the entire team, including producer Karan Johar and Dharma Movies Banners, for supporting the adventure project. On August 1, there was a collision between Dhadak 2 and Son of Sardar 2 at the box office. The film grossed an estimated Rs 3.35 crore in India. The film is based on the background of a law college and is based on a young student’s visit to a young student who falls in love with his classmate, but due to caste differences he has to face harsh resistance from his family. This poignant romantic drama, directed by Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions, Z. Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures, examines the rigorous realities of romantic drama caste-based discrimination, love and courage to resist against social norms. The result is a raw, deep -affected cinematic experience that does not shy away from uncomfortable truths.
