Flood -like conditions in Prayagraj

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert on Sunday (August 3) warning torrential rain and celestial electricity in four states. IMD has warned of very heavy rainfall, issuing red alerts in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal and Sikkim. At the same time, Orange Alert has been issued in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Kerala, Tamil Nadu. The weather in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka is expected to remain normal. Yellow alert has been issued on rain in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Northeast and surrounding eastern India are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during the next 7 days. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Meghalaya Arunachal Pradesh are expected to have extremely heavy rainfall on August 3. Tamil Nadu and Kerala may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during the next-6-7 days. A warning of extremely heavy rain has been issued on August 5 in the Ghat areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of less rainfall in Central India next week.

Drizzle expected in Delhi

IMD expressed light rain or drizzle forecast that Delhi will remain cloudy and light rain may occur on Sunday. IMD said that on Saturday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius, which is 1.1 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 84 pm on Saturday evening which falls in the “satisfactory” category.

‘Orange Alert’ in all districts of Kerala

There is a possibility of heavy rains and strong winds in Kerala in the next few days, in view of which the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for several districts till August 6. The IMD said on Saturday that an area of cyclonic winds has developed at an altitude of 5.8 km above the Gulf of South Tamil Nadu and Mannar. As a result, moderate to heavy rains are expected in different parts of Kerala for the next five days. The Meteorological Department said that ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued in four districts for August 3, followed by ‘Orange Alert’ in six districts on August 4, August 10, August 10, on August 4, August 5.

Ganga water level rises in Varanasi
