A case of snatching the chain from Congress MP Sudha Ramakrishnan has come to light in Delhi. The incident took place near Tamil Nadu Bhavan at 6 am on Monday morning. She was walking with DMK MP Rajati, when the miscreant on Scooty carried out the incident.
The MP has suffered a neck injury due to pulling the chain. Delhi Police has registered a case and started action. Sudha has written a letter to the police, speaker and the Ministry of Home Affairs. In a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah, he said, “My more than four sovereign (about 32 grams) weighing gold chains were lost and I am very shocked by this criminal attack.”
Sudha is a Congress MP from Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. Currently, he is in Delhi to participate in the monsoon session of Parliament. In Chanakyapuri, where the chain was snatched from them, the area is considered one of the safest places in Delhi. There are many embassy and official residences of the state governments.
MP said- crooks came covered with face on Scooty
In the complaint lodged with the police, the Congress MP said that the incident took place between 6.15-6.20 am on Monday morning. She was walking with DMK MP Rajati near Gate-3 and Gate-4 of Polish Embassy in Chanakyapuri.
According to the complaint, during this time a person riding on Scooty gradually came from the front towards MP Sudha Ramakrishnan. The accused wore a helmet and the face was completely covered. He reached the MP and ran away by snatching a gold chain from his neck.
MP Sudha said that during this time he suffered an injury to his neck and clothes were also torn. Somehow we shouted for help by avoiding falling. We saw a patrol vehicle of Delhi Police, from which we complained.
Sudha told the Home Minister- women are not safe in Delhi
Congress MP Sudha wrote to Amit Shah in a letter, ‘A high security zone like Chanakyapuri, where there are many embassy and protected institutions, such an attack on a female MP is very shocking. If a woman cannot run safe in this high security zone of Delhi, then where can we feel safe.
Sudha said, “How can women do their work without worrying about their safety, life and valuables.” The MP demanded Shah to instruct the officials to find out the culprits as soon as possible and said, “Please make sure that my gold chain is returned and I get justice.”
