Yes, we are talking about Uday Prakash, which many people remember for his dreadful acting as one of the domineering brothers of Khushboo in the 1991 hit film ‘Chinnathambi’. They had all the qualities of becoming a villain that should be in a villain. However, his life was very different behind the curtain. He lost everything in drug addiction. His career, family and finally also cheated on their own life. Born as Manikandan in Ooty, Uday Prakash was the son of a disciplined army officer. The passion for acting brought him to Chennai, where he started struggling to make his mark in an industry. He first appeared on the on-screen ‘Varusham 16’, but there was no dialogue of his role in it.

Villain becomes bright luck

He got real success from ‘coincidence’. In fact, the actor went to a mansion to meet Pari where Uday Prakash was seen by a producer and he was very impressed by his bright form and dangerous voice. He then got a chance to work with Vijayashanti in the Telugu film ‘Vyjayanti IPS’ (1990), which opened the way for him in both Tamil and Telugu films. He started getting the role of a villain in many films and he started going to play a dangerous role in South Cinema. His character was his identity. The real turn came with ‘Chinnathambi’, where Uday Prakash won the heart of everyone by playing the role of a lead villain. He got tremendous success from this film. After this he appeared in Tamil films like ‘Mannan’, ‘Meettukudi’ and ‘Ithu Namma Bhoomi’. He also got a chance to work with stars like Rajinikanth, Karthik, Prabhu and Sarathkumar. There was a time when director P Vasu made Uday Prakash his favorite villain. Love also came with fame. He married a girl who had come to see the shooting of a film and it seemed that he had gone to the household life. However, the seeds of their collapse were sown behind the curtain. Drunken, he slowly ruined everything.

Drunken actor died on the road

After the shooting of the film, the habit of drinking alcohol began to celebrate. She completely turned into addiction. Despite being the son of a disciplined soldier, Uday Prakash could not get out of the grip of liquor. As his habit of drinking alcohol increased, he could not shoot the film. Not only this, the offers from his hand also started to get rid of and finally his family got away from him. The debt increased and they disappeared from the memories of the people. Eventually, he left Chennai and moved to Salem, where he lived in a dilapidated shelter. A woman used to live with the help of a monk. His condition was revealed when Nadigar Sangam met him. He arranged for his treatment and with the help of actor Sarathkumar, Uday Prakash made a comeback from the 2003 film ‘Diwan’. However, the money returned and he became an alcoholic again. Despite already trying to recover, his condition deteriorated much more than before. His liver was deteriorating rapidly while struggling with asthma. Director P. Vasu once again admitted him to the hospital, but after a few days Uday Prakash came out without coming to someone and found unconscious on the road near the Radigar Sangam office. Shortly after, he died at the age of just 40.
