New Delhi: Many states including UP, Bihar, Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh have recorded heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. There may be rains during the next 24 hours. Along with this, strong winds will also blow. At the same time, there is flood -like situation in Madhya Pradesh, Eastern UP, Rajasthan and Gujarat due to heavy rains. Flood water has entered homes in many places.
Warning of heavy rain in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains can be recorded in eastern UP, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana during the next 24 hours. Apart from this, heavy rains can be recorded in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department said that on August 5 and 6, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at some places in the ghat areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rainfall is expected at some places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Telangana are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall at some/many places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Telangana.
Floods in many villages
According to the information, Purvanchal has received heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours. Some areas of several districts including Ghazipur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Bhadohi have been hit by floods. Five of the seven tehsils of Ghazipur have been flooded. 57 villages are affected by floods. Four villages have lost contact due to floods. At the same time, a holiday has been declared today in government and private schools due to continuous rains in Bhadohi. Schools will remain closed from nursery to class 8.
Orange alert in Himachal
In view of the possibility of heavy rains on Tuesday in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange’ alert. According to officials, the movement of vehicles on 310 roads including a national highway on Monday remained closed due to the continuation of moderate to heavy rains in the state.
