What is the New Monetization Policy of YouTube: YouTube, the world’s biggest video platform, is going to make a big change in its monetization rules. From 15 July 2025, under the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), those channels will not get advertising revenue that uploads “large-scale, repetitive or non-honorable” content. The move will directly affect the creators who make less hard -working videos using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Why is this change happening?

According to YouTube, there is a flood of content on the platform that are made in large numbers with the help of automated tools and AI. These videos often use stock footage, synthetic voice and copied text. Such content does not provide any special information or entertainment to the audience, which spoils their experience.

There are three main reasons behind this change:

Improvement in users’ experience: YouTube wants the audience to find high-quality and original content on the platform.

Complaints of advertisers: Advertisers do not want to show their advertisements on such videos that are of low quality.

Promoting original creators: YouTube wants to support creators who really make unique and authentic content.

What do new rules say?

These rules, which are implemented from 15 July 2025, will particularly influence videos that are considered “massively manufactured” or “repetitive”.

Large -scale constructed content: This is the content that is made with minimal changes using AI or automated scripts. For example, hundreds of list videos that only have a slight difference in the title.

Repetition content: Such videos are so similar that the audience does not get any new information or entertainment. Such as re-uploading a light-looked video or compiling looping footage.

YouTube is not completely against AI-generated content. If the creators use AI with original commentary, analysis or creative storytelling, then such videos will continue to earn. However, the automated videos that read only text with stock footage will no longer be monitized.

Will the rules of joining the channel change?

The terms of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours (in 12 months) or 10 million shorts views (in 90 days) will still be applied to join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). However, now special attention will also be paid to the originality of content with these conditions. This means that only by completing the number, your channel will not be monetted, but the quality of your content will also matter.

What will be the effect on the creators?

Channels that have large amounts of repetition or low value videos may face a decrease in advertising revenue. However, YouTube will not give direct strikes to these channels in the beginning, but will remove their content so that the creators get time to conform to the new guidelines.

This change is a challenge for creators who are very much dependent on AI. However, it is also a big opportunity for those who create authentic and creative content.

Suggestions for creators:

If you are a YouTuber and want to avoid these changes, then you can adopt these suggestions:

Give priority to the original commentary, analysis, or creative story in your video.

Use AI tools, but make sure your personal contribution to your content is clear.

Avoid creating videos with repeated templates or minimum changes.

This new policy of YouTube is an important step towards enhancing the quality of the platform and encouraging the creators to create more fundamental and creative content.
