In Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, on Tuesday, many sub -fangs of Harshil Valley caused havoc in areas like Dharali, Harshil and Sukki due to cloudburst. Due to natural disaster, landslides and flood conditions have been created in many places. The village has been affected by heavy debris near Kheda Gad in Dharali village. There is also a landslide in Taal Gad in Harshil region. At the same time, pictures of strong floods in Bhela Gad flowing in front of Sukki village are coming out, due to which there is an atmosphere of panic in the village. The army and administration have taken up the front. Rescue teams are posted on the spot and the situation is constantly being monitored. People of the affected areas have been appealed to be vigilant.
Flash flood alert issued
Uttarkashi police said- “Due to a temporary lake developing on the Bhagirathi river near Harshil, there is a possibility of flash flood in the lower area. The said adverse situation and security should be evacuated by the people residing in the dangers around the Bhagirathi river and vacate their houses and stay in a safe place.”
Do not go around river drains- police
SP Uttarkashi has informed that due to the tragic disaster of overflowing/ cloudburst in Harshil, Dharali area, there has been a lot of loss of life and lamp. He has informed that people trapped around the scene have been evacuated by rescue teams to safe places. Uttarkashi police has informed that it is raining continuously in Uttarkashi district, please take precautions. Do not go around the river drains. For security point of view, the danger near the Bhagirathi River should be emptied and remain in a safe place. Dial 112 for police assistance.
How much destruction has happened so far?
Many houses have been washed away in the flood disaster in Dharali in Uttarkashi. The news of the death of about 10 people is coming out. At the same time, a large number of people are also said to be injured. Army camp has also been washed away due to the flood in Harshil. The army helipad has been damaged. About 10 soldiers are missing in the accident. Rescue teams from SDRF post Bhatwadi and Gangotri have reached the spot of rescue equipment. The rescue team conveyed through satellite phones that 60 to 70 people have been rescued from the disaster affected area to a safe place so far. Other SDRF teams are on the way which will soon reach the affected area.
After the Uttarkashi disaster, all schools will remain closed tomorrow. There will also be a holiday in Anganwadi centers. The order issued by the administration said- “In view of the warning of the Meteorological Department in Uttarkashi district, there has been a holiday in government, non-government schools (classes 1 to 12) and Anganwadi centers yesterday.”
