Cloudburst, sudden floods and landslide incidents continue due to continuous rains in the hilly states. A large number of people are expected to be casualty due to cloudburst on Tuesday in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. On the other hand, there was a sudden flood in the Tangling area of Kinnar Kailash Yatra route in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. Reacting immediately after the incident, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) conducted a rescue operation and rescued 413 pilgrims.

Shed a large part of the Kailash Yatra Path

According to the information, a large part of the Kailash Yatra road was swept away due to sudden flood in the Tangling area of Kailash Yatra route in Kinnar. Due to this, hundreds of pilgrims got trapped there. After this, the team of the 17th Battalion of ITBP used rope-based traverse crossing technology. ITBP successfully saved 413 pilgrims and brought them to safe places. In this campaign, a 14 -member NDRF team has been run in collaboration with a gadted officer of ITBP, 4 subordinate officers and 29 other rank personnel.

Rescue campaign continues

According to the information, more pilgrims have been reported to be stranded from the Kinnaur district administration on Wednesday morning. After this, the search and rescue teams of ITBP and NDRF have returned to the spot. The rescue campaign continues. The ITBP team is committed to providing all possible assistance with the district administration and other agencies.

ITBP tweeted on its official X handle and said- “Due to continuous rains, two temporary bridges were swept away on the Kinnaur Kailash Yatra route, which stuck many passengers. Responding to the demand of DC Kinnaur, ITBP has deployed a rescue team with mountaineering and RRC devices under the leadership of AC/GD Sameer.
