New Zealand cricket team shocks, another shock bowler out of second Test match against Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe vs New Zealand 2nd Test: New Zealand fast bowler Will O’Rourke is out of the second Test match against Zimbabwe due to a back injury. New Zealand Cricket gave information about this on Tuesday (6 August). Earlier, other kiwi fast bowler Nathan Smith has also been out of the second Test due to stretch in the stomach. The team has been included in the team in place of Smith.
Already Auckland’s left -handed fast bowler was already called to the team as a cover of O’Rurke. O’Rurke had complained about the back of the back during the third day of the first Test match. O’Rurke will now return to New Zealand for further treatment.
In the first innings during the first Test match, O’Rurke took 13 overs and took 3 wickets for 28 runs in 10 overs before coming back in the second innings.
In the absence of O’Rurke, Jacob Dafi or Matthew Fisher may get a chance to debut Test debut. Fisher was included in the team just before the tour, as he impressed coach Rob Walter as a net bowler.
New Zealand captain Tom Latham also did not play the first match due to a shoulder injury and Mitchell Santner took command of the team in his place. It will be seen to see whether Latham is fit for the second Test match to be held from August 7.
Significantly, in the two-match series, New Zealand is currently ahead 1-0.
