Fair was held in Dharali on 4 August

According to the information, the day before (05 August) disaster came, a day before that i.e. on August 4, there was a fair in Dharali. Local people of many villages of Uttarkashi had reached Dharali to worship at this fair and to visit the fair. People gathered in the temple. Aarti was also done there, people had also had food. These people also danced during this ceremony. This is a video of this celebration.

On August 5, flood caused havoc

Let us know that the flood on August 5 caused severe havoc in Dharali. Half of Dharali village was destroyed in the severe floods in the Kheerganga river due to cloudburst. Meanwhile, the rescue operation is going on there. Several tons of debris is spread at the tannth and amidst continuous rains, ITBP, Army and SDRF personnel are looking for people buried in it. Meanwhile, it is difficult to reach Dharali due to the breakdown of the road. The help of Air Force is being taken.

Army, NDRF engaged in rescue work

The army’s Ibex Brigade is preparing to seek the help of ground penetrating radar and investigative dogs to search for missing people. Two more teams of NDRF have left for Dharli to go but due to continuous landslides, the Rishikesh-Northkashi highway is not able to reach there.

Trouble in rescue due to bad weather

Dharali is about 140 km from Dehradun and usually takes five hours to reach there by road. Roads are blocked by landslides, making it difficult to reach the trapped people there. A bridge over the Gangotri National Highway on the Ganganani was washed away in the flood on the Limcha Gad Barsati drain, causing a team of rescue personnel being stuck on the way.
