He batted at the nets for the first time after lower abdominal surgery. The Asia Cup, starting from 9 September, everyone’s eyes on their fitness are fixed as this tournament will prove to be an important preparation before the T20 World Cup 2026.

Team India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has finally given great news to the fans. After the lower stomach surgery, weeks of hard work, rehab and fitness training were seen batting at the nets for the first time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

The Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to start from 9 September and the team’s captain’s fitness had been stuck for the last several weeks. But now in his new video shared on Instagram, it is clearly visible that Surya is preparing to return with full enthusiasm. In the video, he is seen batting in the nets, putting shots and sweating.

This return is a big relief for Team India, as the Asia Cup is not just a tournament, but also a dress rehearsal before the 2026 T20 World Cup. Currently, Surya’s medical clearance is left and after that there will be a final decision on her playing.

According to the information, Surya had withdrawn the name from Dilip Trophy 2025 to focus on recovery. During this, he paid special attention to strength building, mobility training and match fitness. If he gets fit on time, Team India will not only get his experience, but a strong leader will also return to the field.
