Officials have given information about this on Monday. Police said the incident occurred on the Danyor drain on Sunday night when a large amount of soil fell on workers and many people died due to being buried under the rubble. Emergency has been declared in local hospitals after the accident and rescue work has been started. Hospital officials confirmed 9 deaths and warned that more people may be stranded. He informed that the injured are being treated.

Sudden flood

In a separate event, a part of the Karakoram highway connecting Pakistan with China was washed away due to the sudden floods in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir due to the breaking of a lake made with a lake made with a glacier. Experts have warned

The floods also affected other parts of the region. In Nagar Khas, the Hopar Valley route was blocked, a bridge was swept away in Tokorkot village and the only access route and embankments in Shimshal Valley have been damaged. The restoration of irrigation and drinking water supply systems came to a standstill, due to which thousands of people were deprived of drinking water in some areas. Experts have warned that this year the warm waves (heatwaves) and record breaking temperatures have accelerated the melting speed of glaciers, increasing the frequency of such incidents in the region.
