Adaso Kapasa posted under PM Modi’s security
There has been a recent historical change in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Inspector Adaso Kapasa, a resident of Cabi, a small village in the commander district of Manipur, created history by joining the country’s most prestigious security unit, Special Protection Group (SPG). She is the first female commando to be posted under the security of PM Modi. A picture of her, in which she is seen standing confidently behind the PM with black suits and earpieces. This picture of Adaso Kapasa became very viral on social media.
Kapasa was posted in SSB’s 55th Battalion
Adaso Kapasa belongs to Mao Naga tribe of Manipur. Adaso, coming from a village with simple background and limited resources, had big dreams since childhood. She completed her studies from local school and then joined the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). She was posted as Inspector (General Duty) in the 55th Battalion of SSB in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. He made it to the SPG on the basis of his hard work, discipline and leadership capacity.
Martial arts and bomb are expert in defusing
It is not an easy task to join the SPG. It is India’s most unique security unit, which is only responsible for the protection of the Prime Minister and his family. The selection in SPG has to undergo difficult physical and mental tests, including weapons training, martial arts, bomb defuse, and preparation of secret missions. Adaso completed the SPG commando training in 2020 and joined the PM’s core security team in 2024. In this way, Kapasa set an example for the women of the male dominated country.
Symbol of increasing participation of women in security system
The deployment of Adaso Kapasa in the SPG is not only his personal victory, but it is a symbol of the increasing participation of women in India’s security system. Her pictures, especially during PM Modi’s recent UK visit, became a topic of discussion on social media. People are appreciating them as ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘National Gaurav’. Especially the people of Manipur and Northeast India are proud of his achievement.
