Stock Market Closing On 21 May 2024: After turmoil in the first trading session of the week, the Indian stock market closed flat. But strong buying has been seen in the shares of metals energy sector. Due to heavy buying in midcap stocks, MIFTI's midcap index has succeeded in crossing the 52,000 mark for the first time. The market cap of BSE has closed at a historical high. At the end of today's trading, BSE Sensex closed at 73,953 points with a fall of 52 points while Nifty closed with a gain of 27 points.

Due to the rise in the stocks of many sectors in the stock market, the market cap of the stocks listed on BSE has reached a historic high. The BSE market cap closed at Rs 414.58 lakh crore, which was closed at Rs 412.35 lakh crore in the last session. That is, in today's session, investors' wealth has seen a jump of Rs 2.23 lakh crore.

In today's trading session, Nifty Midcap, the index of midcap stocks, created history. Nifty Midcap has closed beyond the 52,000 mark for the first time. However, there was a decline in the small cap index. But in today's session, there has been a rise in Energy, Metals, Oil and Gas, Commodity, Pharma and Auto stocks. Whereas the stocks of IT banking, FMCG sector closed with a decline. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 13 stocks closed with gains and 17 closed with losses.

Look at the bullish stocks: Tata Steel 3.69%, JSW Steel 3.68%, Power Grid 2.71%, Tech Mahindra 1.65%, NTPC 1.50%, Asian Paints 1.20%, SBI 1.18%, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.71%, Titan 0.42%, HCL Tech closed with a rise of 0.27 percent, Bajaj Finance 0.20 percent, Sun Pharma 0.08 percent, Reliance 0.08 percent. Whereas Nestle closed with a fall of 1.37 percent, Maruti 1.03 percent, IndusInd Bank 0.85 percent, ICICI Bank 0.84 percent.
