Ahmedabad.The Anti-Terrorism Squad of Gujarat Police has arrested four Sri Lankan citizens for having links with the banned organization ISIS. According to the police, these Sri Lankan citizens were allegedly on a mission to carry out terrorist activities in India. An official said that acting on the basis of intelligence, ATS caught the terrorists at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Airport on Sunday night. These people had reached Ahmedabad from Sri Lankan capital Colombo via Chennai.

ATS SP Sunil Joshi said, “On May 18, we received information that four people were coming to Ahmedabad from Sri Lanka… They were going to carry out some terrorist activity and are associated with a banned terrorist organization… We Took them into custody. He told us that he is a resident of Sri Lanka. Recently, they were in touch with ISIS handler, Abu… On the instructions of Abu, they came to India to carry out terrorist activity… We recovered ISIS flag, arms and ammunition. These people were instructed to leave these flags at the sites of their terrorist activities.”

Gujarat Director General of Police Vikas Sahay said that these people had come to India on the orders of IS to carry out terrorist activities. Sahay said that on the basis of information and photographs found in the mobile phones seized from the accused, the ATS team has also recovered three Pakistan-made pistols and 20 cartridges lying unclaimed at a place in Nana Chiloda area of ​​the city.
