An alert in Meta has saved the life of a young woman in Uttar Pradesh. In fact, on August 12, a 35 -year -old woman working at the Gorakhnath Niwasini cosmetic shop in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, attempted suicide. The video was posted on Instagram, by making a scarf trap from a roof fan, a fan of a roof. After this, the police received an alert through e-mail and the woman’s life was saved.
How did Meta send alert?
On August 12, when the video was posted on Instagram by the woman, then at 08:42 PM, the Social Media Center at the Director General of Police on behalf of the Meta Company received an alert through e-mail. Taking immediate cognizance, the higher authorities were made cognizance. Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna was directed for immediate action on the said alert. Taking cognizance of the alert sent by the Meta Company, on the basis of the mobile number provided by the social media center of the headquarters, the district’s location was immediately informed about the case by informing the district.
How was the life of a woman saved?
On the information and location provided by the headquarters, the police station in-charge of the police station Gorakhnath, the women sub-inspector and policemen reached the girl’s house in a interval of just 05 minutes and immediately reached the girl’s room with the family, where the girl was seen trying to commit suicide by putting a noose in her neck, the woman was panting loudly and was in excessive depression. The girl’s domestic first aid was done by the police personnel with the help of family members.
Why did the woman attempt suicide?
When the girl was normal, she was informed by the police personnel, then she told that the financial condition of her house is not good due to which she is upset. For this reason, such a step was taken by the woman to commit suicide by coming into depression. After reaching the local police on time, the girl was prevented from committing suicide and counseling, which was assured by the woman not to make such a mistake in the future. The family members of the woman thanked the UP police for the readiness and support of the policemen of the local police station.
Agreement between UP Police and Meta
Under the system prevalent between Uttar Pradesh Police and Meta Company from the year 2022, if any person posts related to suicide on Facebook or Instagram, then in relation to such posts, the Meta Company is informed by the Uttar Pradesh Police by sending an alert through e-mail and phone. A total of 1257 persons have been protected by the Uttar Pradesh Police by taking cognizance of the alert received on the suicide post from 01-01-2023 to 12-08-2025.
