Why is Donald Trump angry with India?
The US has imposed a tariff of up to 50 percent on India’s goods. Meanwhile, former India diplomatic development Swaroop said that one of the reasons behind the punitive charges levied by Washington on New Delhi is that US President Donald Trump is angry with India for ignoring his so -called role in the peace agreement with Pakistan after the military conflict in May. The former High Commissioner and a famous writer in Canada, Swaroop described the current relations of America with Pakistan as a short-term, strategic system that is mainly inspired by financial interests and insisted that the US-India relations remain strategic.
Former diplomat told why America is unhappy with India?
In his interview to the news agency ANI, Swaroop in a business talks appreciated the decision of New Delhi not to bow down to the pressure of the Trump administration and said that the tariff of US President Donald Trump would eventually increase inflation in the US. He said, “We have to understand why these fees have been levied. One, Trump is not happy with India because we are members of BRICS. He has a perception that BRICS is an anti-American alliance that is bent on creating an alternative currency of dollars. They feel that India should not be a member of BRICS.”
Government of India rejected Trump’s claim
According to Swaroop, the second reason for this is that New Delhi refuses to credits the arbitration of peace agreement with Pakistan after Operation Sindoor in May. New Delhi has been saying since the beginning that America had no role in the ceasefire talks, because India does not accept external arbitration. At the request of the Director General of military operations of Pakistan, there was a direct ceasefire between the armies of the two countries. Swaroop said, “Trump has so far said that he had stopped both countries from the verge of nuclear war, he had stopped the nuclear war in the subcontinent. Therefore, he is angry that India has not accepted his role, whereas Pakistan has not only accepted his role, but also nominated him for the Nobel Shanti Award.”
