Weather of August 15: Warning of torrential rain with thunderstorms in these states of the country

New Delhi: The country is celebrating its 79th Independence Day today. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in many states. On August 15, heavy rainfall is expected at different places in eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana and western Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at different places in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, East Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Git-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Kerala and Mahe. Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may receive heavy rains.

Strong winds will run here

In coastal Andhra Pradesh, thunderstorms can occur at different places at a speed of 50-60 kmph. There is a possibility of thunder with power and strong winds (40–50 km per hour) at different places in the royalseema. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, coastal Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir-Golgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand and Telangana are expected to rain with power and strong winds (30–40 km per hour) at different places.
