Russia’s biggest oil buyer does not have any plan to take action against China, know why
America President Donald Trump said on Friday that he does not need to immediately reply tariffs on countries like China who buy crude oil from Russia. However they can reconsider the issue again in the next two or three weeks. Trump has threatened that if no steps were taken to stop the war in Ukraine, they will impose an additional punishment on the countries buying crude oil, along with new restrictions on Russia. Let us tell you that India and China are the two biggest oil buyers in Russia.
Trump did not take action like India against China
Last week, Trump announced an additional 25 percent tariff to purchase crude oil from Russia on India. But Trump has not yet taken any such action against China.
Asked by Fox News, whether such measures are being considered after there was no compromise on Ukraine at the Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin? Trump replied, “Because of what happened today, I think I do not need to think about it. Now, I may have to think about it in two or three weeks or some more time, but we don’t have to think about it right now. I think you know, the meeting was very good.”
Negotiations are going on between America and China
In addition, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump are interacting on a possible trade agreement with the aim of reducing stress between the world’s two largest economies and reducing tariffs. Nevertheless, if the US increases the tariff, China can become the biggest target after Russia.
Earlier, Trump claimed that 50 percent of tariffs on India on buying oil from Russia affected Moscow’s decision to hold a meeting with Washington, as Russia is losing its second largest customer (India).
There is no restriction on purchasing crude oil from Russia
India said on Thursday that it did not stop purchasing oil from Russia in response to the US President’s tariff threat and continued purchasing only for economic reasons. The country’s largest oil company, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) President A.S. Sahni has clarified that there is no restriction on Russian oil imports and India’s intention to continue buying crude oil from Russia is unchanged.
