Andaman and Nicobar Islands The group has shown interest in developing ‘Eco-Turism’ resort in four different places, including Tata Group’s IHCL (Indian Hotels Company Limited) and Hyatt Hotel to promote tourism in the group. Officials gave this information on Saturday. According to officials, these resorts will be built on Neel Island, Avas Island, Long Island and Smith Island. The project will be based on the Public Private Participation (PPP) model. The administration is also planning to develop the Megapod resort at Port Blair in a new form.

These major hotels took part in the meeting

The tenders were invited by Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited (NIIDCO) on 28 July. Prior to the bid, big companies like The Leela, Club Mahindra, Hayat, Ambuja Neotia Hospitality, Chalet Hotels, Junipar Hotels, The Park, Polo Hotels and GVK Group participated in an important meeting organized through video conference on 14 August. NIIDCO Managing Director Chanchal Yadav said that in the meeting, investors were given the opportunity to suggest and ask questions.

Bids will be made on 15 September

Chanchal Yadav said, “Our goal is to create a global destination of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Investors will be visited by the project site in the first week of September. ”Bids will be placed on September 15 under the tender. This will be the first time that the island of Avs, which is known for its several acres of coconut orchards, will be opened for tourism.

Aques Island will get new identity

The administration believes that after the resort is built, the island will become the most liked tourist destination in Andaman after the island of Havellock. Officials said that it is near Mayabandar city and there are leveling surfaces of living and dead corals here and the 2 km long beach makes it an ideal place for camper.

120 rooms will be built in Neel Island at a cost of Rs 172 crore

The administration has 2.75 hectares of land, which will be leased to NIIDCO for the development of the project. He informed that this property will invest about Rs 36 crore and will have 50 rooms. The proposed resort at Long Island’s Lalaji Bay will cost around Rs 391 crore and will have 220 rooms. 70 rooms will be built in Smith Island at a cost of Rs 60 crore, while 120 rooms will be built in Neel Island at a cost of Rs 172 crore.
