Kondhwa, 4th October 2024: A young woman was abducted and gang-raped by three men in the Bopdev Ghat area of Kondhwa, a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage in the community. The 21-year-old victim, who had gone for a walk with a friend, was abducted by the suspects, who posed as activists from a human rights organization before committing the heinous crime.
According to the police, the assailants abducted the woman and later sexually assaulted her. The incident came to light early Friday morning, causing a large crowd to gather outside the local police station after the complaint was filed.
Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, addressing the media, confirmed the assault. “A young woman was sexually assaulted by three men at Bopdev Ghat. We were alerted about the crime this morning, and a case has been registered. Ten teams have been dispatched to track down the accused,” said Sharma.
The police have already prepared a sketch of the suspects based on the victim’s description. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the attackers.
