‘Third Mumbai’ will be settled in this district of Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday that his government is developing ‘Third Mumbai’ in the neighboring district of Raigad to promote development in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and will write a new chapter in the economic development of the state. The Chief Minister on Monday inaugurated the new office of veteran global investment banking company Goldman Sachs in Worli, after which he spoke to the third Mumbai during a discussion with investors.
Government is working closely with private sector to build ‘third Mumbai’
The Chief Minister said, “The state government is committed to development and is working closely with the private sector for the construction of ‘third Mumbai’. The new city will host the centers of international universities and play an important role in the economic development of both Mumbai and Maharashtra. The project will include Medical College, Innovation Center and Research Facility.” He said, “The inauguration of the new office of Goldman Sachs is a matter of pride for the state. It confirms Maharashtra’s skilled workforce, strong markets and investor-friendly environment. It also underlines the state leadership in the financial sector.”
There will be direct connectivity between Mumbai and ‘third Mumbai’
Fadnavis said that research would be a major feature in sectors such as quantum computing and AI-based systems. Fadnavis assured that there would be direct connectivity between Mumbai and ‘Third Mumbai’, which will help Infra Projects like Coastal Road, Atal Setu and Worli-Circle Link Road. In order to take initiative from private investors in the development of the new city, the Chief Minister said, “There is good development through public-private partnership. All the necessary approvals for the incoming investors will be fulfilled rapidly at the government level. Maharashtra is an investor-friendly state. We are continuously improving our trade facilitated ranking.”
Problems will be solved immediately
He said that the state is ensuring that there is no obstruction in the way of investors and if there is any problem, it should be resolved immediately. Kevin Saneder, president of Goldman Sachs, said that opportunities in the Indian market are very important for the company. Goldman Sachs India CEO Sanjay Chatterjee said that the new office is a milestone in the company’s visit to India. Goldman Sachs started its services in India in the 1980s and established a complete ownership in Mumbai in 2006.
