Automobile Sales Data: Hero MotoCorp’s wholesale sales declined by 43 percent to 3,05,406 units in April. The company had temporarily stopped production in its Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar and Neemrana facility from 17–19 April, which was the main reason for the decline in wholesale sales. In April 2024, the company’s wholesale sales were 5,33,585 units. Hero MotoCorp said in a statement released on Friday that domestic sales came down to 2,88,524 units in April, which was 5,13,296 units in April 2024. Export was 16,882 units a year ago in the same period 20,289 units. In April, 5.05 lakhs were registered for the company’s internal combustion engine (ICE) two-wheelers.

Bajaj Auto sales fall by 6 percent

Bajaj Auto also fell by 6 percent to 3,65,810 units in April in April. The company sold 3,88,256 vehicles in April last year. Bajaj Auto reported to the stock market that domestic sales fell 11 percent to 2,20,615 units on an annual basis, compared to 2,49,083 units in the same quarter a year ago. However, exports increased by 4 percent to 1,45,195 units on an annual basis. It was 1,39,173 units in April 2024.

Sales of Ashok Leyland also declined in April

Similarly, the total sales of commercial vehicles, Ashok Leyland, also fell by 6 percent to 13,421 units in April. In April 2024, he sold 14,271 vehicles. Ashok Leyland said in a statement that domestic sales fell by 7 percent to 12,509 units in April, as compared to 13,446 units in April 2024. The sales of moderate and heavy commercial vehicles in the domestic market declined 14 percent to 7,406 units on an annual basis. It was 8,611 units a year ago in this month. The company said that the sales of light commercial vehicles in the domestic market increased to 5,103 units in April 2024 last month, which was 4,835 units in April 2024.
