Former bowlers Karsan Ghawri have given a strong statement about Team India’s legendary batsmen Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. He says that these players should not ignore the criticism of Sunil Gavaskar but should take it as guidance. Ghavri believes that it is valuable for every young player to consult a great batsman like Gavaskar.
As soon as Sunil Gavaskar’s name in Indian cricket is heard, the response is reflected on the tongue of the people even today. But former cricketer Karsan Ghawari feels that the current star players Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are not giving them correct respect to that legend.
In fact, Ghavri said in a show by Vicky Lalwani that Gavaskar has been commenting continuously for the last 25 years and his views have been icing for any player. He said, “It is very unfortunate that our own players do not go to take advice from him, while every Indian batsman should learn from Gavaskar, Shubman Gill too. If this was the case, there would definitely be news that Gavaskar has advised Virat, Rohit or Gill. But never got to hear that.”
Not only this, Ghavri taunted Rohit and Kohli, saying that both were never happy with the criticism of Gavaskar and described it as ‘disor at’. He clearly said, “Whether you are Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli, it is important to respect a great player like Gavaskar. If he is explaining something to you, it is only for your good.”
Ghavri also compared the style of Ravi Shastri and Gavaskar. According to him, Shastri openly criticize while Gavaskar says things differently.
