In view of the increasing pollution in winter in the capital Delhi, firecrackers have been banned today from October 14 to January 1, 2025. A ban has been imposed on the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers. Delhi government has issued instructions regarding the ban. Besides, cooperation has also been requested from all the people of Delhi.

On September 9, the Delhi government had banned the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers till January 1 to tackle air pollution. Environment Minister Gopal Rai had given instructions for this. Like last year, this time too the government has banned the production, storage, sale and use of firecrackers in Delhi. There will also be a ban on online sale and delivery of firecrackers till January 1, 2025.

Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that an action plan will be prepared in collaboration with Delhi Police, DPCC and Revenue Department to strictly implement the ban. The government is preparing a winter action plan based on 21 focus points to control pollution.
