Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister Soravong Thienthong has proposed a 700 million THB budget for free domestic flights for international tourists. This can be a great step to promote tourism in the country.
Thailand is going to start an initiative of 700 million Thai Baat under which free domestic flights will be provided to international tourists. It aims to attract 2,00,000 tourists and promote tourism beyond the main cities of Thailand. The program, which runs from August to December 2025, gives subsidy on the participating airlines ticket. Due to which the country’s economy is expected to increase a major increase. This will also benefit the ‘Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year’ campaign.
Free domestic flight in Thailand
It is planned to start with 6 airlines of the country. Which will include Thai Air Asia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Airways International, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet. Under the scheme, the government will subsidize domestic tickets priced at 1,750 baht for one -way travel and 3,500 baht for round trip. However, the proposal of this scheme will be handed over to the cabinet. After which this scheme can be implemented.
