Islamabad, 16 October (HIST). He addressed the inaugural session of the Council of Heads of Government of the member countries while presiding over the SCO.

According to Pakistan’s ARY News channel, Shehbaz Sharif said that a major project like Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative should not be viewed through a political lens. The conference has been organized at Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. Representatives from 11 countries including host Pakistan, China, Russia and India are participating in it. The SCO member states are represented by the Prime Ministers of China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan along with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Iran and the Foreign Minister of India. The Prime Minister of Mongolia as an observer and the Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan as special guests are also attending the SCO summit.
