Thane: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded to the opposition’s objections concerning the integrity of electronic voting machines (EVMs), asserting that the criticism is inconsistent. “When the Opposition wins, EVMs are good, the Election Commission is good, and the Court is good. But when the results do not go in their favour, suddenly EVMs are bad,” Shinde stated.

He emphasized that the people of Maharashtra are aware of the opposition’s “double role,” noting their previous praise of the electoral process when it aligned with their interests. “We face elections with strength, vigour, and a focus on development,” he added, reinforcing the ruling party’s confidence in the electoral system and its outcomes.
