Kolkata. Monsoon has departed from Bengal, but there is still a possibility of rain in South Bengal and North Bengal. Due to low pressure forming one after the other in the Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rain may occur in South Bengal. Due to excess moisture in the air, humidity-related discomfort will persist despite autumn. According to Alipore Meteorological Department, there is a high possibility of rain in the coastal areas of South Bengal in the next 24 hours, while rain is also expected in five districts of North Bengal. Rain may continue in most districts of South Bengal till Sunday, but heavy rain is not expected anywhere. Chances of rain are high, especially in the coastal districts, while there are also chances of rain in Darjeeling, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and surrounding areas of North Bengal. The weather is likely to remain dry in the remaining districts.

The Meteorological Department has warned that waves more than one meter high may arise in the sea by Friday night. Due to the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal, another low pressure is likely to form next week, which may affect the coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Kolkata may also experience rain once or twice during the afternoon or evening on Thursday and Friday. However, there is no possibility of heavy rain. The temperature will be slightly below normal, and the morning weather will be pleasant. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Kolkata was 24.4 degrees and the maximum temperature was 31.2 degrees.
