Illegal liquor factory busted in Bareilly metropolis, three arrested

Uttar Pradesh News Desk Izzatnagar Police and Excise Department have busted an illegal liquor factory running in the house of a retired executive engineer in the metropolis and arrested three accused. This liquor was made by importing ethanol from Uttarakhand and was supplied on country liquor contracts in many nearby districts including Badaun, Shahjahanpur.

Inspector Izzatnagar Dhananjay Pandey said that the team of police and excise department raided the house of retired executive engineer of PWD in Udyan Part One of the metropolis in Izzatnagar and arrested Sachin alias Sajjan Gupta of Mohalla Kunwarganj of Tilhar police station in Shahjahanpur and Parvana Nagar in Izzatnagar. Rajeev Gupta and Pankaj Paras, resident of Samrat Ashok Nagar of Baradari, were arrested. The three accused were running this house on rent and a factory manufacturing illegal liquor of various brands including Scholzer. Apart from a scooter, fake liquor, ethanol, small and big machines for packing liquor pouches, 1.20 lakh fake wrappers, chemicals used to mix liquor and measuring instruments and other equipment were recovered from the spot.

When the vials were closed, machines were installed. SP City Manush Pareek said that during interrogation it came to light that the three accused had been doing this business by taking this house on rent for two months. The license of country liquor is in the name of the brother-in-law of the arrested liquor smuggler Rajeev Kumar in village Tatrabad of police station Kalan in Shahjahanpur. When the goods were ready, they used to supply them to the country liquor shops in the villages of Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Badaun Border including Kalan, Gadhiya Rangi, Tatrabad on Scooty or other vehicle. Ethanol was used to make liquor, which came from Uttarakhand. Fake wrappers were brought from Delhi. The accused told that earlier they used to make Pauwa containing bottles. But when the vials were discontinued, to increase the business, he installed machines and started making pouches.

The role of the landlord will be investigated

SP City Manush Pareek said that the house in which the illegal liquor factory was running belongs to a retired executive engineer of the Public Works Department. He lives in another house in the same colony. He had given this house on rent for Rs 15 thousand per month. Every month he used to take the rent and electricity bill money. In such a situation, their involvement in the work being done in the house will also be investigated.

Liquor supply network will be scrutinized

Three cases are registered against the arrested Sachin alias Sajjan Gupta. There are also three cases against Rajeev Gupta and this is the first case against Pankaj Paras. SP City said that liquor was being smuggled in many districts. In such a situation, their entire network will be investigated and action will be taken.
