Lohia Law University gets three centers of excellence

Lucknow. Dr. RML National Law University, Lucknow has received three Centers of Excellence from the Higher Education Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the scheme for setting up Centers of Excellence in the financial year 2024-25. Dr. Alka Singh, a faculty member of the University, has received a grant of Rs. 4,00,000/- for carrying out the work of a Center of Excellence on the subject of Human Rights and English Literary Studies (creating an annotated bibliography). Dr. Aparna Singh has received a research grant of Rs 1,00,000/-.

4,85,000/- to develop a study on NEP and Human Rights Studies (status of Human Rights Studies/Education in Schools in the context of Secondary Educational Institutions in the State of Uttar Pradesh) to start the work of Center of Excellence on Curriculum Change. Manoj Kumar has been awarded a research grant of Rs. 3,30,000/- for the project on “Functioning of e-Governance in Western Uttar Pradesh: Issues and Concerns”.

The Center of Excellence, led by Dr. Alka Singh, envisages studying various disciplines of English studies from a human rights perspective. Under the Centre, an annotated bibliography of selected texts from the perspective of human rights and English literary studies will be prepared. Interdisciplinary area to train and sharpen the skills of law and literature students reading English in terms of understanding human values ​​and humanitarian perspectives when interpreting texts related to legal education and humanities.

Dr Alka Singh says, “Some of the modest objectives of this Center of Excellence are to document the major texts of English Studies in coordination with human rights issues, to establish links between human rights and literature, to demonstrate the interdisciplinary pattern in legal studies.” will explore the human face of legal and literary studies and reflect the creative enterprise in the context of NEP 2020.” Dr. Manoj Kumar’s research will delve deeper into the operational dynamics of e-governance in Western Uttar Pradesh, identifying key issues hindering its implementation.
