Bengaluru. BJP has been repeatedly demanding the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah since the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam and Valmiki Corporation embezzlement came to light. With the resignation of MUDA president, BJP has a fresh opportunity to force Siddaramaiah to resign.

Former Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda has demanded that Siddaramaiah should step down amid the ongoing investigation into the Valmiki Corporation and Muda land scams. Gowda accused Siddaramaiah of feeling guilty about the manipulation. He confessed his crime in the House. He has gone to temples to pray for his crime. Nagendra has also come out on bail and Marigowda has resigned. The former Chief Minister said that now the time has come for Siddaramaiah to step down from the post. Gowda called on Siddaramaiah to retire from politics and stressed that he should resign until all these scams are resolved. He highlighted that several persons have approached the government for permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah in various cases, including the Arkavathi Layout scam. Gowda made this statement a day after Congress MLA and former Karnataka minister B Nagendra, who was released on bail, spoke in favor of Siddaramaiah. Speaking to the media after his release, Nagendra accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of forcing him to implicate Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in the Valmiki Corporation scam. He said he refused to do so. It has also been claimed that BJP is trying to destabilize the Congress government. Siddaramaiah has been caught in a political storm due to several controversies and scams surfacing in the last few months. However, Siddaramaiah remained confident and firm in the face of increasing pressure.
