More than 200 trains pass through Jaipur News Desk, Jaipur Jaipur News Desk, Jaipur Junction, Gandhinagar and Durgapura stations every day. More than one lakh passengers travel through these stations every day. The biggest challenge at these busy railway stations is security, but the situation shows that there is gross negligence in security arrangements. Recently, Jaipur Junction had also received a bomb threat, yet the security arrangements are running with full confidence. An investigation into the security arrangements of these three major railway stations revealed shocking circumstances. Many baggage scanners were found broken, while door detectors were proving to be merely a substitute.

The baggage scanner machine installed at Hasanpura entry gate of Jaipur Junction was covered with a cloth. There was a placard on it, in which it was written that the machine was broken due to a technical fault. The agent selling tickets there told that the machine was not working for about a month. Baggage scanners were also found covered with cloth near gate number two and the court complex. It is surprising that more than one lakh people pass through this station every day, yet so much carelessness is being taken in the security arrangements. In such a situation, knives, swords or other prohibited items can be easily brought.

Thieves’ ways: further security lapses

There are more than half a dozen thieves at Jaipur Junction and Gandhinagar station, where there is no checking. Paths have been opened at many places at Gandhinagar station, through which people can reach in and out of the platform in a few minutes.
